GIBSON GIRL
This gorgeous lady is THE Gibson Girl and I'm certain the picture is by Charles Dana Gibson, though I haven't been able to find it on-line anywhere. The cut is of a high-quality and superb with the hat and sleeve coming out of the frame. There are over 350 pieces and it's not an easy puzzle, being colour-cut and mostly non-interlocking. It's so sad that there are four missing but somehow the overall picture isn't too badly affected. (There is also a dog-chewed piece (lower right) which is in poor condition.) PRICE: reserved for JB

THE SICKENING SWAIN or OVER THE WALL
This is a beautiful chromo picture on plywood of a young man and pretty, young girl getting to know each other while standing either side of a stone wall. HIS MAJESTY'S YACHT by FRANK H. MASON
This is an AVN Jones puzzle of 300 pieces of His Majesty's Yacht. I'm not sure which Majesty it is since I can't find out anything about this picture except what it says on the box which is that it is from an original painting by Frank H. Mason, RBA. The puzzle is complete and it's a good picture of various ships/boats/yachts (I never can tell the difference!) There are one or two broken knobs which are present and overall the puzzle is in very good condition. PRICE: £35.00

SOUTH NOTTS HUNT
This jigsaw came at the same time as Silvery Moon and in the same type of box. It appears to be a photo of a group of people setting out for a day's hunting. There are over 350 pieces and it is complete though there is one piece with a broken knob which is present. PRICE: £40.00

THE SPORT'S TRAIN
This is a Hall-Court puzzle showing some 1930's skiers going to their ski resort. The picture is absolutely gorgeous! It made me want to join them, though I wouldn't normally even think about it, as my old bones would probably break just looking at a ski slope! There are 150 pieces, it's complete and in its original box. PRICE: £20.00

THE MATTERHORN
This is another small (108 piece) puzzle probably cut by an amateur or a cutter for a small company. I had a fair few cut by the same person but have sold most of them. PRICE: £10.00

FAIREY SWORDFISH AIRCRAFT by VICTORY
This is a 125 piece jigsaw by Victory, produced in about 1950 which is complete and in very good condition. The box is original but someone made a round hole in it at sometime and has taped back the cut out from the inside (around the propeller in the photo of the box lid). PRICE: £15.00

PHOTOCHROM PUZZLE - WINDSOR CASTLE
I don't normally feature the box of a puzzle rather than the puzzle itself but here I'm making an exception! The lid of this box is so gorgeous that I'm sure there are people out there who would want it just for the picture! Inside there is a 100 piece jigsaw made from an early 20th century photo of Windsor Castle from the opposite bank of the Thames. The puzzle is complete and in good condition except that one lobe is broken but present. The box is in exceptional condition with a sticker on the bottom saying:"Do not open until Dec.25th" PRICE: £20.00 reserved for SP

CHAD VALLEY - MAID OF WALES
This is one of those post-war "Come to Britain" jigsaws which were produced around 1952. It consists of 500 wooden pieces and measures 19 x 21 inches. It is in its original green and white box with a black and white guide picture. It is colourful and a challenge - particularly the green background. PRICE: £60.00

WORLD MAP between 1922-1937
This is a map produced by Geo. Philip & Son sometime between the above dates....I know this because it has the Irish Free State on it. It is complete and in quite good condition with a little foxing. There is no original box so I'm not certain who the maker is. PRICE: £25.00

THE OLD MILL - SOLID MAHOGANY
This is a very pretty 300 piece jigsaw - missing two, unfortunately. It is contained in an old hosiery box but has the original top of the box lid with it. There's no manufacturer's name and I would guess that this was made around 1920. It is a push-fit puzzles with a few whimsies. PRICE: £35.00

MV ASTURIAS
This is a small (150 piece) puzzle with an old travel poster by Kenneth Shoesmith as the picture. It shows the MV Asturias and a smaller boat bringing either people waiting to board it or supplies including fresh produce. Along the bottom of the picture is written the name of the ship and some details about it. When I first did this jigsaw three years ago, there were three pieces missing. Later I found all three pieces in jigsaws that came in the same lot so now it's complete and very attractive. PRICE: £25.00

PHOTOCHROM - A MINIATURE REPRODUCTION PUZZLE
This is a gorgeous little 60 piece puzzle of a village street with thatched cottages, pond and villagers. The box is good, the puzzle is complete and good though someone has written numbers on the backs of all the pieces. PRICE: £18.00

"EDWARD VIII" MAMMOTH
This is a Mammoth puzzle from the late 1930's celebrating the coronation that never happened of Edward VIII. The picture is excellent but the lower right hand corner piece is missing. The box is very good. PRICE: sold

CHANDOS - "WHAT'S THIS?"
This is a great little (about 150 piece) jigsaw from the Chandos range which dates from the early 1930's.The picture shows little Nix (the dog) encountering a rather large beetle. There are two missing pieces (shame!) but the picture is great and the famous Chandos cut is, as alway, rather taxing. PRICE: £35.00
