FIVE DIFFERENT TRUMP MARKERS
Starting with the globe marker - it has a brass base with a copper globe, inset with an ivorine band which has symbols of the four suits around it. PRICE: £22.00
Next, the ship's wheel marker. This, again has a brass base. The wheel is copper with brass protrusions (I don't know what else to call them!). The globe is brass, again inset with an ivorine band having the symbols around it. PRICE: sold
Third is the simple brass base with legs going up to a cross piece on which are celluloid sheets with the suit symbols - and the words NO TRUMPS. The heart symbol is a little rubbed along one edge and there is a very little corrosion on the base. PRICE: £15.00
SEE THE NOTE ON HOME PAGE *****
Last is the green celluloid card deck holder with a trump marker built in to the front. The box hinges down from the top to take a deck of cards. It was made sometime in the thirties I would think and is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. PRICE: sold
And a recent acquisition with no photo yet....A ship's wheel in copper which is turned to uncover the trump symbol. The wheel is mounted on a small dark piece of wood. Please email for photo. PRICE £12.00

WHIST BOX
This is a "white floral ware" Mauchline box with Whist written in black. The box is in very good condition although the catch has the usual little tab missing and one of the hinges is a little loose. Inside are two decks of fairly modern cards by the American card company, Hallmark. £20.00

A SET OF DOMINOES
This is a complete set of "double-six" bone and ?ebony? dominoes. The photo is of another set but this set is the same except that one has a small chip on a corner of bone - this doesn't really make a difference. They come packed in their own sliding top box which is of a traditional design and made with dovetails at each corner. Each domino has a brass spinner. PRICE: £30.00

A POCKET CHESS SET
This is a little chess set made by T.S.L. and housed in a cardboard box with a wooden board and plastic men. The box lid is split on one corner and there is a piece of its end missing but all the men stay in place when picked up. PRICE: £10.00
I also have several other sets of chessmen but no room to put photos. If you are interested in a set of good wooden men, please contact me for details and photos. They range from small to medium size and from £8.00 to £40.00.

TOTO DICER
This is a fairly rare dice "thrower" in its original box. The little machine is in almost perfect condition, possibly never having been used. It comes in its original box which is also in good condition though there is a small stain in one corner. PRICE: £25.00 (red toto-dicer on left)
and another - this time well-used and not in a box. PRICE: £12.00 (green toto-dicer on right)

A SET OF TWO GOODALL 'CAMDEN' WHIST MARKERS
These two whist markers are in excellent condition. The darker one is, I think, ebony with ivory 'tabs' and the slightly lighter one is rosewood with ivory tabs. They would have been made in the late part of the 19th or early part of the 20th century. They both have labels on the back saying "The Camden Whist Marker Goodall & son London." and each is stamped at one end with the little crown. £40.00

POOLETTE
Seldom do I find a game in such great condition! This one was made in the 20's or 30's (or possibly the 50's) and consists of a wheel similar to a Roulette wheel, a board which holds the bank's 'money', a stake board, a couple of ball bearing and a box of counters (Emu, made in England). The game was made by R. Cox Products Ltd. of Worcester but there's nothing to say on the rules when it was made. The picture on the lid shows a very posh gentleman croupier. The box is made of tan cardboard with an applied label. PRICE: £40.00

TWO MUDIE'S RUBICON BEZIQUE MARKERS
Here are two really lovely markers made by Mudie's in the 1920's to keep score during a game of Rubicon Bezique. Each one is a polished hard wood and has hinged tabs of ivory. The markers are in very good condition although each has some little dings on both sides from use. The hinges and tabs are all in good working order. The numbers on some of the hinges are slightly rubbed but readable. PRICE EACH: £25.00

THE LAST STRAW
What a strange item! This is a wooden camel with a bit of paper covered wood on his back to simulate a cloth saddle. The camel is partially articulated so that when you place objects on his back he will collapse at a certain point. The lid suggests that you use him "after each rubber of Bridge - Player placing card which breaks camel's back - pays forfeit". The camel comes with a tiny deck of cards. I wanted the game simply for the graphics on the lid! The camel was produced by Chad Valley probably back in the 1930's when lots of people played bridge. The box is good but has a couple of split corners which have previously been taped. PRICE: £18.00

CRIB BOARD "EXTRAORDINAIRE"!
This is a big (13.5" x 3.5") crib board covered in an ivory coloured material - which I believe is called 'ivorine' - and is in excellent condition. It's the ideal gift for someone who plays cribbage or collects similar items. It has a swivel opening at the end with two holes, in each of which are two pegs to use on the board. I believe it dates from around the 1930's but it could be from the '50's. PRICE: £45.00

THREE BOXES OF COUNTERS
There seem to be millions of counters in the world! Here are just three types. Each box has dozens - possibly hundreds - of counters. There are plastic counters in the little red box to the right, above are cardboard counters with the name "Gambo" and on the left is a box of bone counters (although there may be one or two plastic ones that have forced their way in!) The plastic counters are £3.00, The Gambo counters are £3.00 and the bone counters are £4.00. (BONE COUNTERS SOLD - ENQUIRE FOR OTHERS NOT BOXED)
As well as these I have loads of stained bone counters with 'old money' on, cowrie shells and any number of counters in the shape of 'men'. Do write with your needs.

CHAD VALLEY ROULETTE
This is a great Roulette set comprising a mat on which the betting takes place, a painted wood and metal roulette wheel with a little white glass (?) ball and a rule sheet. It all comes in a box with a "flip-top" lid and it's all in really great - possibly even unused - condition. PRICE: £20.00

SET OF FOUR LITTLE TRUMP MARKERS/COUNTERS
This is a small set of four counters representing the four suits and each with raised 'cards' on the front and a registration diamond for October 1881 on the back. They are each just a couple of centimeters across at the most - which is why it's such a poor photo!PRICE: £25.00

DOUBLE CARD CASE FOR THE WORSHIPFUL CO. OF MAKERS OF PLAYING CARDS
This leather-covered case which is made to hold two decks of cards was made around 1929 or possibly a little later. The stamped gold-tooling on the front is of two men in armour, one standing on each side of a shield which has the words CORDE RECTO ELATI OMNES on it. This picture and writing were produced when King George V recovered from an illness (the Latin writing means "Our King Restored To Us"). The case is in very good condition though there are two rubbed places on the inside of the fold-over lid. and a tiny pulling-away of the leather on the bottom of the case. The ribbons which aid the removal of the cards and the ribbon on the lid are still present and in good condition. PRICE: £18.00
